Privacy Policy

1. Overview

RevLucid is an educational platform for IFRS 15 and ASC 606 revenue recognition guidance. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

We take a minimal-data approach: the interactive tools (checklist, memo, guide progress) store your progress locally on your device using browser localStorage. This data never leaves your browser.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following types of data:

2a. Tool Progress (Local Storage)

The Audit Checklist, Revenue Memo Template, and 5-Step Guide use your browser's localStorage to save progress between sessions. This data:

• Stays entirely on your device — it is never transmitted to RevLucid servers
• Includes checklist completion states, memo field content, and step progress
• Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage or site data

2b. Analytics

RevLucid uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics tool, to understand aggregate usage patterns (page views, session counts). Plausible:

• Does not use cookies or collect any personal data
• Does not track visitors across sites or devices
• Does not collect IP addresses or any personally identifiable information
• Is fully GDPR, CCPA, and PECR compliant — no cookie consent banner required
• Collects only: page URL, referrer, browser type, OS, and country (all aggregated and anonymised)

2c. Server Logs

Like all web servers, our hosting provider may retain standard access logs (IP address, request path, user agent, timestamp) for operational and security purposes. These logs are not used for marketing or profiling.

3. How We Use Data

• To understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the product
• To maintain the operational security of the service

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

RevLucid uses the following third-party services:

• Netlify — Hosting and serverless functions. Standard hosting logs apply. Netlify privacy policy.
• Beehiiv — Newsletter delivery. If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is stored and processed by Beehiiv. Beehiiv privacy policy.
• Plausible Analytics — Privacy-focused, cookieless analytics. No personal data collected. Plausible privacy policy.
• Google Fonts — Font delivery (Space Grotesk, IBM Plex Mono). Google may receive basic request data per standard CDN operation.

We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing, advertising, or analytics purposes.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

RevLucid does not use tracking cookies. We use browser localStorage for:

• Saving your checklist and memo progress (on-device, never transmitted)

You can clear localStorage data at any time through your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cached images and files / Site data).

6. Data Retention

• Tool progress: Stored only in your browser. Cleared when you clear site data.
• Newsletter subscriptions: Email address retained by Beehiiv for as long as you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any newsletter email.
• Analytics data: Aggregate, anonymised. No personal data retained.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. For any data requests or privacy questions, contact us at the email address below.

Since most data is stored locally in your browser (not on our servers), you can delete tool progress directly by clearing your browser's site data.

8. Children's Privacy

RevLucid is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects when it was last revised. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
